We hear much about the evils of Hitler and the Nazis, as we should. The glaring exposure gap in our country - in eduction, journalism, fiction & non-fiction writing, televisions and movies - to the horrors of Communism and Mao in particular, is borderline criminal and gives power to the cliche: condemned to repeat it.

The Socialist agenda:

1) destroy faith in God

2) destroy faith in the family

3) destroy society so it can be remade using Socialist values

4) destroy the world's economy so it can be controlled by the elite few

Remarkable that possibly the greatest famine of the last hundred years is almost completely forgotten.

The proximate cause, in a priceless example of top-down policy mistakes, was the killing of sparrows, one of the “Four Pests.” Of course, no one could oppose or question this policy. What followed, from what I read, was simple: without sparrows the locusts multiplied enormously and ate vast amounts of grain.

Jeff, I've written about that insanity here: https://fee.org/articles/zika-or-not-don-t-ask-government-to-eradicate-mosquitos/

Maoist cultural tactics have been de rigueur since the 60’s. Cringy Leftist’s knew they could revolutionize through our educational institutions. They were the “trend” settings setting a standard for “cool” embraced by Hollywood, the Media and now our Government. Not so cool anymore, is it?

Yes, until parents (politicians won't) act, the takeover of the educational system will continue to erode support for liberty.

Be aware that Gov. Roy Cooper, now considered as one of Harris' running mates, is a follower of Newsom. Our governor in NC seems to replicate the CA governors policies shortly after he's initiated them trying to turn our state into a mini-West Coast. Hopefully, we have enough conservative voters this year to bring our state to it's senses, while sparing the nation from Cooper as its next VP and future Presidential choice.

Wow. I'm sorry to read your report, Deborah. I had no idea about NC.

I like the idea of "communal" cooking WITHIN extended families, but not with the abolishment of family. God, I'd go insane if I had to communally cook with all of my neighbours. It would be so uneven. I'd bust my back for 8 hours cooking pasta sauce the traditional way from scratch, and the next day some WASP-y twit would serve my family chicken nuggets and hot dogs. And I wouldn't want government employees in charge of food. Just brutal.

Not to mention, there would be little food to cook and they wouldn't allow you to cook in the traditional way for 8 hours!

Nooooo I would go insane if they made me eat Prego.

I recall during the RNC debates about gender affirming care for children that Haley and Christie, trying to tack left of DeSantis and Ramaswamy, took the position that parents should be allowed to decide what is best for their children. This law essentially eliminated that position.
